There are
interesting twists that have brought about the Grateful Chics. Tracy
made me the first set of Gratitude Beads in the summer of 2008. These
beads helped me get through a difficult time in my career, my marriage,
my health and more. I even put a strand of these beads in my
mother-in-law’s casket so that she knew I was grateful for her life. Life’s opportunities (God-incidences) brought me to a place of courage
to go out on my own as an entrepreneur. My intention for these beads
and all of the Grateful Gifts is to help you stay connected to your
goodness, the goodness of God and the goodness that exists here on this
planet in spite of and in glory over all the badness.

Grateful Chics was started in the mind’s eye of Christine, or Joy as we now call her. She was
inspired by a gift I had made her, a set of Gratitude Beads, one of the
first I had made. We both were at a place in our lives where we needed
change, enlightenment, spirituality. The idea of the beads came to me
while reading Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, a book Joy suggested to me. I created the beads to be something to physically see and hold to
remind me to think about the blessings in my life instead of the
obstacles. I made Joy one as well and gave it to her as a simple
little “I love you being in my life” gift. Well, from that one simple
gift, we have now begun to write a new chapter in our lives, Grateful
Chics, the company! One more thing for which to be grateful! ~T-Lou
